Cookie Policy
Fantasy Footy League Ltd _Last updated: September 2026_
Fantasy Footy League Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites, and tracking technologies (such as Software Development Kits, or SDKs) in our iOS and Android apps. This policy explains what we use, why, how long it lasts, and how you can control it.
It covers fantasyfootyleague.co.uk and its subdomains, including the player site where you sign in and play.
1. What Are Cookies and Trackers?
- Cookies are small text files stored on your computer or device by your web browser.
- Browser storage (local storage and session storage) works in a similar way, and we treat it exactly as we treat cookies.
- App Trackers/SDKs are blocks of code embedded in our mobile apps that function like cookies to understand how the app is performing.
2. Essential Cookies (Strictly Necessary)
These are required for the platform to work and to keep us compliant, so they do not need your consent. They keep you securely signed in, confirm you are in the UK (which we must do by law), let you pay entry fees and join leagues, let you get help from our support team, and remember the choice you make about cookies.
- ffl_session (Fantasy Footy League): keeps you signed in from one page to the next. 15 minutes, renewed while you use the site.
- ffl_refresh (Fantasy Footy League): keeps you signed in between visits. 30 days.
- oauth_state (Fantasy Footy League): protects you while you sign in with Apple or Google. 5 minutes.
- ffl_consent (Fantasy Footy League): remembers your cookie choice. 7 days if you say no; up to 400 days if you say yes, renewed when you visit.
- Help chat (Intercom, cookies and browser storage beginning
intercom-): lets you contact our support team and see their replies while you are signed in. The session cookie lasts 1 week and the device cookie 9 months, both renewed while you use the chat. - Location checks (GeoComply): confirm you are in the UK before you play.
- Payments (Acquired): process your card securely when you add funds. These are set inside the payment form, which Acquired provides.
- Things you have done on the site (Fantasy Footy League, browser storage): for example, a notice you have dismissed or a team you are part way through picking. Kept on your device only.
3. Analytics Cookies (Only With Your Consent)
We only use these if you choose "Accept all" or turn on Analytics in Cookie settings. They show us which pages people find helpful and help us find and fix things that break.
- Google Analytics (Google, cookies
_gaand_ga_<ID>): counts visits and shows which pages are used. 13 months. Google's advertising features are switched off. - PostHog (PostHog, cookie
ph_<ID>_posthogand browser storage): shows how people use the site and its features, and may record some visits as a replay with text hidden. 1 year. - Sentry (Sentry, browser storage
sentryReplaySession): records some visits as a replay (clicks, scrolls and page changes, with text and anything you type hidden) so we can find and fix problems. Deleted when you close the tab.
This information is pseudonymous. If you are signed in, PostHog and Sentry may link it to your account by an internal ID number, but never by your name or email address.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we never sell your data.
Without analytics cookies, PostHog still receives basic usage information, such as which pages are viewed and which buttons are pressed, and Sentry still receives error reports. This does not store or read anything on your device. If you are signed in, it may be linked to your account by an internal ID number.
4. Managing Your Consent
You have full control over non-essential tracking:
- On Our Website: A cookie banner appears when you first visit. "Reject all" and "Accept all" are equally easy to choose, or you can use "Manage choices" to decide for yourself.
- Changing Your Mind: Select "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page. If you withdraw consent, we stop using analytics cookies straight away and delete the ones we set.
- How Long Your Choice Lasts: If you say no, we will ask again after 7 days. If you say yes, we will not ask again unless the tools we use change.
- Across Our Sites: If you say yes on one fantasyfootyleague.co.uk site, it also applies to our other fantasyfootyleague.co.uk sites, so you are not asked twice. If you say no, that choice applies only to the site where you made it, so another of our sites may ask you separately.
- In Your Browser: You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in.
- On Our Apps: Our iOS and Android apps do not use advertising identifiers and do not ask to track you across other companies' apps or websites. They do use two tools from the moment you open them: PostHog, which records how the app is used (for example which screens you visit and when you enter a game), and Sentry, which reports crashes and errors. Both store an identifier on your device, and once you sign in, that information is linked to your account by an internal ID number, never your name or email address. They do not record your screen.
- App Permissions: You can manage location and notification permissions at any time in your iOS or Android settings. If you would like us to stop using app analytics information about you, please contact our support team.
_Note: If you disable essential tracking or turn off location services, you will not be able to log in, verify your UK location to meet our regulatory checks, or enter paid leagues._
